Organized session on Measurement and Analysis of Multidimensional Poverty

Abstract

During the Western Economic Association International (WEAI) conference 2021, we have a session on multidimensional poverty, which features the following presentations:

  • Endogenous Weights and Multidimensional Poverty: A Cautionary Tale by Gaston Yalonetzky (University of Leeds)
  • Measuring Vulnerability to Multidimensional Poverty in Latin America by Maria Emma Santos (Instituto de Investigaciones Economicas y Sociales del Sur)
  • Evaluation of Antipoverty Programs' Impact on Joint Disadvantages: Insights from the Philippine Experience by Suman Seth (University of Leeds)
  • Sensitivity Analyses in Poverty Measurement: The Case of the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index by Nicolai Suppa (Center for Demographic Studies, Barcelona)

Moreover, I also present ongoing research with Iñaki Permanyer on regional disparities using subnational data of the human development index (HDI).
