A new documentation website for mpitb, the Stata toolbox for multidimensional poverty indices, is now online — with a getting-started guide, comprehensive help files, a workflow manual, and practical how-tos.

This paper presents mpitb a toolbox for multidimensional poverty indices (MPI). The Stata package mpitb comprises several subcommands to facilitate specification, estimation, and analyses of MPIs. The toolbox offers several benefits to researchers, analysts and practitioners working on MPIs.

The MPI toolbox mpitb is now available on the SSC archive. This toolbox facilitates the estimation and analysis of multidimensional poverty indices in Stata. The toolbox comes with comfortable estimation and storing routines, a streamlined workflow, several convenience functions and some low-level tools for programmers.

In this talk we provide an overview of research on multidimensional poverty measurement and analysis. We cover the dual cutoff counting approach, its direct antecedents, the global multidimensional poverty index and related research.
