The Capability Perspective: Basic Features and their Relevance for Social Policy

Abstract

The present contribution argues that the analytical strength and the reach the capability approach provides are not trivial, nor do they choke off its general operability. Quite the contrary, I argue that both analytical strength and reach feed on four distinctive features of the capability approach, which entail immediate implications for social policy.
