Summer school on economics of poverty and inequality in Barcelona

If you are a master or a PhD student with a background in economics or similar and interested in the field poverty and inequality, consider to apply for the upcoming summer school “The Economics of Poverty and Inequality: Global Challenges in the 21st Century” organised by the School of Economics at the University of Barcelona.

Sessions of the summer school include topics like measurement of poverty and inequality, analyses of inequalities in monetary and non-monetary dimensions of human well-being, inequality of opportunity, and analysis of multidimensional poverty. Lab sessions cover how to access commonly used databases, permit to apply the learned material and feature the replication of selected official poverty estimates, for instance.

The course is taught by colleagues who are actively working on these topics, including Iñaki Permayner, Xavier Ramos and myself, for instance. There is also a limited number of scholarships available, which waives tuition fees.
